“It’s Important to Control Our Tongue and Watch Our Mouth” (Psalm 141:3) WEREAD DAILY READINGS & SAINT’s STORY - June 10, 2021 Thursday of X week in Ordinary Time: https://youtu.be/LNdsjjw7Z-M Hello everyone, we are back again to read the Daily Bible Reading according to the Catholic Liturgical Calendar on Thursday and story of Saint Yoakima from Barcelona.

Saint of the Day for June 10 Saint Joachima’s Story Born into an aristocratic family in Barcelona, Spain, Joachima was 12 when she expressed a desire to become a Carmelite nun. But her life took an altogether different turn at 16 with her marriage to a young lawyer, Theodore de Mas. Both deeply devout, they became secular Franciscans. During their 17 years of married life they raised eight children. The normalcy of their family life was interrupted when Napoleon invaded Spain. Joachima had to flee with the children; Theodore remained behind and died. Though Joachima re-experienced a desire to enter a religious community, she attended to her duties as a mother. At the same time, the young widow led a life of austerity and chose to wear the habit of the Third Order of St. Francis as her ordinary dress. She spent much time in prayer and visiting the sick. Four years later, with some of her children now married and younger ones under their care, Joachima confessed her desire to a priest to join a religious order. With his encouragement, she established the Carmelite Sisters of Charity. In the midst of the fratricidal wars occurring at the time, Joachima was briefly imprisoned and later exiled to France for several years. Sickness ultimately compelled her to resign as superior of her order. Over the next four years she slowly succumbed to paralysis, which caused her to die by inches. At her death at the age of 71 in 1854, Joachima was known and admired for her high degree of prayer, deep trust in God, and selfless charity. Joachima was beatified by Pope Pius XII in 1940, and canonized by Pope John XXIII in 1959. Reflection Joachima understands loss. She lost the home where her children grew up, her husband, and finally her health. As the power to move and care for her own needs slowly ebbed away, this woman who had all her life cared for others became wholly dependent; she required help with life’s simplest tasks. When our own lives go spinning out of control, when illness and bereavement and financial hardship strike, all we can do is cling to the belief that sustained Joachima: God watches over us always. DAILY READINGS -- JUNE 10, 2021---Thursday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time READING I - A Reading From The Second Letter To The Corinthians. Brothers and sisters: To this day, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over the hearts of the children of Israel, but whenever a person turns to the Lord the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. All of us, gazing with unveiled face on the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, as from the Lord who is the Spirit. Therefore, since we have this ministry through the mercy shown us, we are not discouraged. And even though our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled for those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that they may not see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for the sake of Jesus. For God who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to bring to light the knowledge of the glory of God on the face of Jesus Christ. ---Word Of The Lord; Thanks be To God. RESPONSORIAL PSALM Respond: The glory of the Lord will dwell in our land. I will hear what God proclaims; the LORD–for he proclaims peace to his people. Near indeed is his salvation to those who fear him, glory dwelling in our land. R. The glory of the Lord will dwell in our land. Kindness and truth shall meet; justice and peace shall kiss. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and justice shall look down from heaven. R. The glory of the Lord will dwell in our land. The LORD himself will give his benefits; our land shall yield its increase. Justice shall walk before him, and salvation, along the way of his steps. R. The glory of the Lord will dwell in our land. ALLELUIA R. Alleluia, alleluia. I give you a new commandment: love one another as I have loved you. R. Alleluia, alleluia. GOSPEL - A Reading From The Holy Gospel according to Matthew Jesus said to his disciples: “I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven. “You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment. But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment, and whoever says to his brother, Raqa, will be answerable to the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna. Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court with him. Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge, and the judge will hand you over to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. Amen, I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.” --Gospel Of The Lord; Praise To You Lord, Jesus Christ--

Bacaan Liturgi 10 Jun 2021

Hari Biasa, Pekan Biasa X

Bacaan 1 : 2Kor 3:15-4:1.3-6

Mazmur : Mzm 85:9ab-10.11-12.13-14

Injil : Mat 5:20-26

Bacaan Pertama

2Kor 3:15-4:1.3-6

Allah membuat terang-Nya bercahaya dalam hati kita,

supaya kita beroleh terang dari pengetahuan tentang kemuliaan Allah.

Pembacaan dari Surat Kedua Rasul Paulus kepada Jemaat di Korintus:

Saudara-saudara, memang benar,

setiap kali orang-orang Israel membaca kitab Musa,

ada selubung yang menutup hati mereka,

sampai pada hari ini.

Tetapi apabila hati seorang berbalik kepada Tuhan,

maka selubung itu diambil daripadanya.

Sebab Tuhan adalah Roh;

supaya kita beroleh terang

dari pengetahuan tentang kemuliaan Allah

yang nampak pada wajah Kristus.

Demikianlah sabda Tuhan.

Mazmur

Mzm 85:9ab-10.11-12.13-14

R:10b

Kemuliaan Tuhan diam di negeri kita.

*Aku ingin mendengar apa yang hendak difirmankan Allah!

Bukankah Ia hendak berbicara tentang damai

Bait Pengantar Injil

Mat 13:34

Perintah baru Kuberikan kepada kalian, sabda Tuhan;

yaitu supaya kalian saling mengasihi,

sebagaimana Aku telah mengasihi Tuhan.

Bacaan Injil

Mat 5:20-26

Barangsiapa marah terhadap saudaranya, harus dihukum.

Inilah Injil Yesus Kristus menurut Matius:

Tetapi Aku berkata kepadamu:

Aku berkata kepadamu:

Sesungguhnya engkau tidak akan keluar dari sana,

sebelum engkau membayar utangmu sampai lunas."

Demikianlah Injil Tuhan.

“FAITHFUL GOD” WEREAD DAILY READINGS & SAINT’s I WEREAD Daily readings i June 9,2021. Wednesday of X week in Ordinary Time : https://youtu.be/eNZJ9ieN1Zc
Hello everyone, we are back again to read the Daily Bible Reading according to the Catholic Liturgical Calendar on Wenesday and story of Saint.
DAILY READINGS, JUNE 9, 2021——Wednesday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time

Saint of the Day for June 9 (c. 306 – June 9, 373) Saint Ephrem’s Story Poet, teacher, orator, and defender of the faith, Ephrem is the only Syriac Christian recognized as a doctor of the Church. He took upon himself the special task of opposing the many false doctrines rampant at his time, always remaining a true and forceful defender of the Catholic Church. Born in Nisibis, Mesopotamia, he was baptized as a young man and became famous as a teacher in his native city. When the Christian emperor had to cede Nisibis to the Persians, Ephrem fled as a refugee to Edessa, along with many other Christians. He is credited with attracting great glory to the biblical school there. He was ordained a deacon but declined becoming a priest. Ephrem was said to have avoided presbyteral consecration by feigning madness! He had a prolific pen, and his writings best illumine his holiness. Although he was not a man of great scholarship, his works reflect deep insight and knowledge of the Scriptures. In writing about the mysteries of humanity’s redemption, Ephrem reveals a realistic and humanly sympathetic spirit and a great devotion to the humanity of Jesus. It is said that his poetic account of the Last Judgment inspired Dante. It is surprising to read that he wrote hymns against the heretics of his day. He would take the popular songs of the heretical groups and using their melodies, compose beautiful hymns embodying orthodox doctrine. Ephrem became one of the first to introduce song into the Church’s public worship as a means of instruction for the faithful. His many hymns have earned him the title “Harp of the Holy Spirit.” Ephrem preferred a simple, austere life, living in a small cave overlooking the city of Edessa. It was here that he died around 373. Reflection Many Catholics still find singing in church a problem, probably because of the rather individualistic piety that they inherited. Yet singing has been a tradition of both the Old and the New Testaments. It is an excellent way of expressing and creating a community spirit of unity as well as of joy. An ancient historian testifies that Ephrem’s hymns “lent luster to the Christian assemblies.” We need some modern Ephrems—and cooperating singers—to do the same for our Christian assemblies today.

DAILY READINGS, JUNE 9, 2021——Wednesday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time READING I—- A Reading From The Second Letter to The Corinthians Brothers and sisters: Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. Not that of ourselves we are qualified to take credit for anything as coming from us; rather, our qualification comes from God, who has indeed qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of letter but of spirit; for the letter brings death, but the Spirit gives life. Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, was so glorious that the children of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of its glory that was going to fade, how much more will the ministry of the Spirit be glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation was glorious, the ministry of righteousness will abound much more in glory. Indeed, what was endowed with glory has come to have no glory in this respect because of the glory that surpasses it. For if what was going to fade was glorious, how much more will what endures be glorious. —-Word of The Lord; THanks be To God. RESPONSORIAL PSALM Respond: Holy is the Lord our God. Extol the LORD, our God, and worship at his footstool; holy is he! R. Holy is the Lord our God. Moses and Aaron were among his priests, and Samuel, among those who called upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them. R. Holy is the Lord our God. From the pillar of cloud he spoke to them; they heard his decrees and the law he gave them. R. Holy is the Lord our God. O LORD, our God, you answered them; a forgiving God you were to them, though requiting their misdeeds. R. Holy is the Lord our God. Extol the LORD, our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for holy is the LORD, our God. R. Holy is the Lord our God. ALLELUIA R. Alleluia, alleluia. Teach me your paths, my God, and guide me in your truth. R. Alleluia, alleluia. GOSPEL - A Reading From The Holy Gospel According to Matthew. Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.” —Gospel Of The Lord; Praise To You Lord, Jesus Christ. Santo Primus
San Primo

10 Jun 2015 -
